Airfreight
As in other areas of international transport, Eimskip has an important role in the airfreight service business. The needs of each and every customer are different from each other as well as shipment terms. Examples of services that Eimskip provides importers and exporters and exceed the service airlines can provide are following:
- Collection of goods at the factory/sellers warehouse
- Marking and preparing shipments for transport
- Eimskip seeks the most favourable rates
- The shipment is transported to the airline carrier
- Eimskip offers freight insurance
- Shipments are customs cleared at their destination place
- Shipments are transported to the warehouse of destination
Eimskip also offers services regarding product payment terms, e.g. if the shipment is sold on COD (Cash on Delivery) terms, Eimskip will collect the product value on behalf of the seller.

Eimskip's main co-operation in airfreight goes through German/Austrian logistics company Schenker, founded in 1872. Schenker's transport-net is a wide one, maintained by around 55 thousand employees on 1.500 locations in 150 countries.
In the U.S., Schenker is more commonly known as BAX Global, a brand that Schenker aquired in 2006, leading to a merger of the two.
