Dettifoss is ready and departed in Guangzhou, China yesterday. 17 Eimskip employees traveled to China in the upcoming of the departure but the travel was quite more complicated now during COVID-19. The team had to stay in a 14-day long quarantine upon arrival which was quite challenging given the circumstances.
After a sea trial and final modifications, Dettifoss departed yesterday, May 7, after a thorough review of the local health care team. Ahead is a journey spanning around 40 days and the vessel is expected in Iceland by the end of June.
