There was a malfunction in the main engine on Lagarfoss yesterday where the vessel was located around 230 nautical miles South West of Iceland on her way to Halifax in Canada. After attempting to repair the engine on board without success, the Icelandic Coast Guard was asked to assist the vessel to get back to Reykjavík. Eimskip will contact the customers that have cargo on board to make further arrangements. The weather on location is good and both vessel and the crew is safe and well.
Estimated time of arrival to Reykjavík is on December 31st, weather permitting.
